Language is one of the biggest concerns for international patients. The good news: China’s international departments make this very manageable.

Interpreter services

• Hospital international departments provide professional medical interpreters (English, and often other languages) for consultations.
• We can also arrange a dedicated medical interpreter for your whole visit — from the first consultation through discharge.

Translating your records

• Many hospitals can provide English versions of reports, results, and discharge summaries.
• Bring your prior medical records — we can help translate key documents into Chinese for your doctors (and provide English copies for your home doctor).

Practical communication tips

• Use the international department — staff there are accustomed to working in English.
• Ask for written summaries of your diagnosis and treatment plan (in English).
• For complex cases, ask for a multidisciplinary (MDT) review with the interpreter present.
