Documents (keep in hand luggage)

  • Passport (valid 6+ months beyond your return)
  • Visa (for China)
  • Travel/health insurance details
  • Medical records โ€” diagnosis, history, imaging (files on USB), lab results
  • Medication list (name, dose, frequency) โ€” translated
  • Written medical summary (in English) of your condition & allergies
  • Medical ID card (we can prepare in Chinese)
  • Appointment confirmation & itemized quote
  • Emergency contacts โ€” family, our support line, your embassy

Medications & health

  • Enough of your current medications for the whole trip + follow-up
  • Any new prescriptions discussed pre-travel
  • Basic first-aid โ€” pain relief, antihistamine, bandages, thermometer
  • Any medical devices (e.g., inhaler, glucose meter) โ€” carry in hand luggage
  • Copies of prescriptions in your luggage

Comfort & practical

  • Comfortable clothing (easy to change for procedures)
  • Loose-fitting clothes for after a procedure
  • Supportive shoes
  • A light jacket (air-conditioning/seasonal)
  • Personal items โ€” toiletries, charger, adapter (China uses Type A/C/I, 220V)
  • A small bag for day-to-day carry
  • Reusable water bottle (fill from filtered taps)

Money & tech

  • Some cash (RMB) for small purchases
  • International card(s) (Visa/Mastercard)
  • Alipay or WeChat Pay set up with a linked card (for daily spending)
  • Phone + SIM/eSIM (data) + offline maps of your city
  • Chargers & universal adapter
  • Portable battery

Before you leave

  • Flight tickets confirmed
  • Accommodation booked near the hospital
  • Transport arranged (airport + city)
  • Interpreter arranged (we can)
  • Visa approved
  • Insurer notified (if applicable)
